SPMI Risk Management program assists you in creating and maintaining a safe work environment, while bearing full liability for workers’ compensation. We provide experienced, trained Loss Control Specialists and claims managers who will evaluate any special risk management needs your business might have and carry out an action plan to minimize your risk, when needed. We are also able to provide risk management products at a reduced rate due to our relationship with key providers and our unique service capability.
Workers' Compensation
Workers’ compensation insurance is essential for any business, regardless of how risky the business is. Inadequate workers’ compensation coverage can be detrimental, especially for a small- or medium-sized business. SPMI can help you keep track of the different workers’ compensation codes, as well as offer a cost-effective means of acquiring workers’ compensation insurance. Our risk management policy does not require a deposit, and there are incentives for companies with minimal accidents.
Workers Compensation Claims Management
Our workers’ compensation services include a call center staffed with professional and experienced personnel who can help you with any questions you have about claims, take claims, educate injured workers on their benefits and assist with Return-to-Work Coordination.
We work closely with work comp carrier claims managers and injured employees to insure that doctor appointments are met, bills are paid, and forms are completed and filed in a timely manner. Work with employers to return injured employees to the job as soon as possible.
OSHA and Safety Training
With our highly trained staff we are able to provide essential training and consulting for your OSHA-mandated written programs. SPMI provides templates and guidance for creating site specific OSHA-mandated written programs on a variety of subjects as well as record keeping instruments and forms. We can also do training sessions at your place of business to compliment your health and safety programs, and possibly lower your workers compensation insurance by decreasing accidents. We accomplish this by performing facility audits and identifying hazardous conditions and practices as well as OSHA compliance issues, then recommend corrective actions.
Here is a small sample of the training courses that we offer to our clients and to the general industry through our consultation services:
- 1. Hazards Communication (OSHA required) - chemical hazards in the workplace
- 2. Bloodborne Pathogens (OSHA required for employees with occupational exposure)
- 3. Electrical Safety (basic training for non-electricians)
- 4. Fire Prevention (OSHA required) includes portable fire extinguisher training
